Skill Level Ranking

Levels are an adaptation of International standards (FIVB), USA Volleyball standards and AVP standards.  We take our skill ranking of players serious.  Players who desire to receive a high ranking must have more than just potential.  It has to be proven on the court with concrete evidence and consistency.  So when self ranking, make sure to not rank yourself what you wish you were or what you use to be, but what skill level you currently play at right at this very moment.

Skill Training Services

Sol offers a variety of different ways to improve your game or the game of your team.  Players and teams may register for Sand Volleyball Skill Training as well as Indoor Hard Court lessons.

Indoor Hard Court

Clinics are a great way to focus on one or two skills at a time. Technique is broken down where players can fully try to grasp the proper form. Players enjoy the one hour Clinics where coaches can focus on enhancing a player technique on serving, hitting, blocking, passing or setting.  Two hour Clinics offer a combination format where players or teammates engage in drills to improve on two skills, such as Serving/Serve Receive, Hitting/Blocking, Setting/Hitting, Court Coverage/Rotation or Hitting/Defense.

Camps focus on the volleyball game all around. Each aspect is covered and many drills are provided to challenge players or teams in various areas.  Technique is broken down into simple terms and participants are educated in other volleyball terminology.

Private Lessons are often sought after from players and teams. Sol Volleyball provides player Private Lessons for up to three players and team Private Lessons.

Sand Court

Clinics in sand are designed to brake down Sand Volleyball techniques. One hour Clinics focus on technique, timing and reading the ball on serving, hitting, blocking, passing, court coverage or setting.  Two hour Clinics offer a combination format to improve players or teammates skills, such as Serving/Serve Receive, Hitting/Blocking, Setting/Hitting, or Hitting/Defense.

Competition Services

Open Gyms offer a great way for new players in the area to get know the local volleyball community. Sol Volleyball provides Open Gym on Wednesday Nights.  There are usually four courts and each court is monitored and skill level focused.  Players of equal skill level compete on the SAME court.

Players who desire to participate on higher level courts must prove they posses the skill and ability on the court.  Each player receives one game to demonstrate their level of game.  If they pass the test they may compete on the higher level courts.  If they need more work, they are asked to play on a different level court.

Sol Volleyball’s Open Gym philosophy is focused on providing structure, safety for all players and FUN!  By monitoring courts and providing specific skill levels on each court we are able to accomplish all three objectives.

Sand Leagues start in May of each year and there are two sessions per year.  Each league is well organized and skill level specific.  Teams are encouraged to register for the correct skill level their team can physically compete.  Sol Volleyball offers Women’s, Men’s and Co-Ed leagues for 2s, 4s and 6s.

Sand Tournaments are well organized and skill level specific.
